What
Spandex does?
Spandex provides limitless potential,
works its comfort and stretch magic, while nearly invisible, is
compatible with virtually any fibre or yarn - cotton, wool, rayon, acetate,
nylon, polyester, linen …etc.
Garments using spandex are comfortable with exceptionable fit, can stretch
repeatedly and recover fully without sagging and bagging.
Soft, smooth, and supple,
with resistance to abrasion and chlorine degradation.

Why
Not Rubber?
- Spandex stretches
four to six times its relaxed length.
- Durable.
- Its instantaneous recovery to original length on release of tension,
even after repeated stretches, makes it more durable than rubber.
- Economical.
- in terms
of wear life when compared to rubber,
-Two to three times more restraining power,
-One third less weight,
-Superior fastness to sun light and salt water,
-Longer retention of flex-tone in wear and time.
- Added gain.
- Comfort,
drape, wrinkle recovery, anti-bagging etc are the added advantages over
rubber.

Where
to be Applied?
As bare or
covered with any other fibre or yarn.
- Circular knits.
- Woven fabrics.
- Narrow woven
fabrics/tapes.
- Foundation garments or
support hosiery.
- Inner-wear, lingerie.
- Sport-wear and
active-wear.
- Industrial
applications.
- Medical hoses,
bandages.
- Shoes and shoe laces.
- Even small proportions
of Spandex ensure optimum performance and aesthetic characteristics.

How
to Use?
·
Spandex can be used in its bare form like any other man
made textile yarn, and can go into selected fabric constructions.
·
To retain the feel and other characteristics of the textile
fibres/yarns in fabric and apparrel, Spandex is added in the covered
form.
·
Selected weaving or knitting techniques cannot handle highly elastic
yarns. So to impart temporary stability Spandex is wrapped or
covered with any other fibre or yarn. Sapndex regains full elasticity
during the process of dyeing and finishing.
